Hello, and welcome to The Next Night! We're excited to have you, but before you apply, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the following:

Make sure you look over the premise, rules, and FAQ pages.

Be sure to check the taken page to make sure the character you want to app is not already spoken for.

Applications will no longer be screened, but in the event that we receive more apps than we have available player slots, we'll inform the players that didn't quite make the cut-off. They'll be able to re-app in a future app cycle without consequence.

As we no longer process applications on a monthly cycle, all new players are welcome to post to the communities and join the game from the moment of acceptance.

There is currently a total cap of 60 players, and a cast cap of 6 characters per cast. Each player may play a maximum of 3 characters.

You are limited to 1 app per player per month.

The Next Night does not have a reserve period and there are no app challenges.

We do accept proxy apps! You're welcome to have a friend submit the app for you. As we ask that apps be written in separate journal entries and linked to this page, this should be as simple as dropping a link! We only ask that your friend include a note in the comment that it's a proxy application, just in case we need to contact you before the app is processed.

All new applications must provide a link to a How's My Driving post somewhere on your character journal, and link it in the application. We will no longer be posting a game-wide bimonthly HMD meme.

Application instructions/process:

Make sure you fill out the application completely.

The only section you are exempt from is the CRAU section, provided you are not playing a CRAU character.

You are free to rearrange the sections of the app if you wish (everything under the world description, that is).

You may provide links to wiki pages for the history and world sections, but if these are not informative enough, you may be asked to do a small write-up of your own.

When posting apps, please post them to your character's journal and link them in the comments below. All comments on this page are initially unscreened, but you may lock your app to only be visible to the mod journal (nextnightmods) if you wish. If you aren't sure how to do this, let us know and we'll walk you through it!

The subject line should contain Name | Canon | New Player/Current Player.

We require both log and network samples. One of these samples must be from our game's TDM, and one must be a thread with replies. One thread can meet both qualifications.

We do not ask for revisions, we simply ask questions. Think of it as more of a dialogue than a correction. We may ask for clarification on certain points or ask for more information, but we generally won't ask you to change something.

If you receive questions on your app, you must respond within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in a rejection.

 What are your plans for this character in-GPSL? (These don't have to be concrete, and you're not locked into these ideas, but we at least encourage players to give this some thought. This could be your plans for character development, any plots your character may want to be involved with, etc. There are no wrong answers here, including "I'm not sure". We're more interested in your thought process.)
 What aspects of this GPSL and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with? (Again, no wrong answers here. Consider this a little survey for mod purposes.)
 How does your character generally get along with other people? (Note that characters who don't get along with people aren't going to be automatically rejected for it. We're simply encouraging applicants to think about how their characters will fare in a social situation.)
 What is your character's mental state upon entering the GPSL? (This could be related to their death, the canon they left behind, suddenly arriving in Beacon, etc.)
 Skills/Abilities: (Some powers may require nerfing. Please see the FAQ for more information.)
 Flaws/Weaknesses: (Please include not only personality flaws and physical weaknesses, but any phobias your character might have, and any people in their life that would count as a weakness. This information may be used for events.)
 Personality: (Once again, 1-2 paragraphs will suffice. This section should simply cover the basics, and anything you feel is important that was not covered by the questions above. What sort of things do you keep in mind while playing this character? That's the stuff we're looking for.)
 Items: (Remember that your character can only take what was on their person at the time of their death. Magic items may require nerfing, and all items/clothing will be in the condition they were in at death.)</blockquote>

NOTES:

- As you mentioned in your powers section, Shadow's healing factor will be diminished - he will still heal quicker than most, but slower than he is used to and will still be subject to injury and death.
-Additionally, his dimensional powers will not function in Beacon. He will feel as though he is cut off from any dimensional travel or sensing abilities.
